For the price you can certainly do better. The staff were friendly but the place itself is in desperate need of some attention. The rooms offer no protection from the outside noise and unless thoroughly ventilated the smell is not the best.. With some renovations may be OK but in the meantime don't believe the pictures. more

The room was large and had a balcony. Unfortunately, the workmen started at 7:00 in the morning banging on the walls putting in a new lift. The toilet smelt. The floor was gritty with cement dust. Breakfast was horrible. The girl working at the buffet breakfast could not speak or understand English (this I can understand, but I am the... more

Although this place was in a decent location in the Old Quarter, it wasn't worth the $17 US that we paid to stay there. The room we booked was spacious, but the sounds we could hear from the room made for a difficult sleep. But that was not as bad as the smell in the room. The best way to... more

I enjoyed my stay in most of the Vietnam hotels until I stayed at Camellia II. The hotel had overbooked and even though I had rang the hotel the day before to book a tour with them, no mention was made of the fact that there was no room at the hotel. When I arrived around midnight we were told... more

We have been travelling for three months and this is by far the worst hotel we've found. Rooms are dirty and management takes every opportunity to rip off customers - exchange rates, "free" water, arranging drivers and taking kickbacks, etc. Room is worth less than half of what is charged. more

We booked 2 nights online before arriving in Vietnam. The room was big, but very tired. For US$26 we could (and did) find a much better guesthouse (Golden Sun). Pros: Staff were friendly, room was large, room had a balcony that was nice to watch the world go by from. Cons: Breakfast was revolting; no elevator (we were on the... more

Booked by email. When we arrived at 2200 the place was full so they walked us to a "sister "hotel. It was not however, part of the chain and it was a piece of junk that was under construction. We left our bags there to find another hotel. When we returned to get our bags they wanted to charge us... more

Id have to rate this place as 7/10 Positives : staff were great and helpful, as were the tour staff IF you knew what expected prices were for tours and flights ( I got the distinct impression theyd have charged more but as I had researched it thoroughly for my trip and was prepared to walk over road to airline,... more

They were very sweet at this hotel and spoke good English. They upgraded us to a Delux which was nice but...the balcony doors give NO protection against the street noise below and...there's a dance club across the road that plays thumping music from 10am to 10pm. A shame as, apart from that, it was a great place. Clean, tidy and... more

We enjoyed our stay at Camilla 2. There is a really large room on the second floor that is great for a family. A bit strange, since the room's widows look out over the lobby. The sheers are kept drawn so privacy isn't an issue, and light comes in fine (the Lobby has big windows to the outside. The point... more
