we stayed at the crystal hotel an 29th july 08 and found most of the staff impolite. Shown to our room which was to dity to stay in with a very unpleasant smell. The hotel is at a great location near Taksim Square, the Istiklal Road, the Metro and the bus station, but doesn't suit the hot temperatures in summer! So don't stay there in July-August. The air conditioning only makes noise but doesn't cool. We slept with open windows and we coped. The staff and the breakfast were great. The room OK. more

The Crystal hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel. My room was not very clean, e.g. I would never ever have considered using the bath tub... The foyer has been pretty lavishy appointed but the rooms (we stayed in 2 on 7th floor) were adequate - in need of refurbishment but overall reasonably clean. We have stayed at the Crystal Hotel for four nights in January and enjoyed it very much. It is a centrally located, clean hotel, the rooms are pretty much spacious. The hotel staff and service made our stay enjoyable, they helped us and gave some tips about the surroundings... you cannot be regretful if you stay there. more
