Possibly the best location in all of Istanbul if you plan to hit the big sites and seek breathtaking convenience. A sweet, small boutique hotel, hugged with trees and shade at its outdoor terrace, where free full breakfast is served. Free Internet. Cozy (yes, small) rooms, but clean, classy, all the amenities you want and need. Love that the rooms... more

On the plus side, the Hotel Poem is located in a quiet part of Sultanahmet just off the busy Akbiyik Caddesi. We were concerned at first that the noise from the main street would keep us awake but our fears were unfounded. There is also a delightful garden terrace on the ground floor where you can take breakfast in the... more

My friend and I recently stayed in Hotel Poem, and we were not impressed! Firstly, when we arrived at just gone midnight, we were told that they had made a mistake and had let our room for the night. This was despite the fact that we had contacted the hotel that morning before we left home to conform our booking!... more

Having read earlier reviews we booked War & Lovers, which has a fabulous view. (though you need to be agile to get in and out of the bath!) Unfortunately we had to spend the first night in a really tiny room called Sunday. Location is absolutely ideal and very peaceful, breakfast on the terrace is lovely - not much choice... more

We found this hotel because our guide book loved it - but we found the hotel pretty average. The room turned out to be a twin room (they promoised us a double room), it was also very small, and the staff weren't that friendly at all. We stayed there for 5 nights - but I'm afraid to say that when... more

Just back for an excellent stay in the Poem - Istanbul in April is a lovely place to be! While - as many reviewers note - our room was on the small side - it was spotlessly clean , and the comfy bed, decent shower and (perhaps most of all) the view over the Sea of Marmara compensated - the... more

What makes this hotel exceptional is the helpful owner (Adnan). He is a wealth of information. His staff is also helpful. The hotel is well situated, walking distance to the major sites. Rooms often have a wonderful view. The rooms are nice, quiet, not incredible. Breakfast is on par with other hotels we stayed at in Turkey -- a pretty... more

stayed at the Poem for 5 nights...have to say that I was disappointed with our room (NOT featured on their website!) , I would describe it as a single with two beds; possibly ok for a couple of children not for two adults; with no compensatory view of the sea. We asked but no alternative was available. That said, the room... more

We really enjoyed this hotel. Pick up from the airport was great. (for a fee) we arrived to the hotel and was shown to our room (gypsy) which was rather small and the window looked out to the eating area.,a little to close for comfort. Always kept the curton closed Front desk was occasionally helpful. The location can't be beat..... more

An excellent hotel for the price. The staff were very freindly and helpful, the rooms a liitle small but adequate, clean and a small fridge in the room was very welcome! Breakfast was good , with a selection of chees, olives , tomatoes , bread , eggs , coffee and fruit juice. The hotel was clean and comfortable and I... more
