We stayed in the Sultanhamet for three nights prior to a cruise. Our room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and small balcony that opened onto the street that the hotel faces. Since we knew we were in a large city, we closed our windows and ran the a/c at night; therefore, we missed the 5 a.m. call to prayer... more

We recently spent 4 nights at the Sultanhan Hotel before touring other areas of the country and then returned for a final night before heading back to Canada. The hotel is a little gem in the heart of the old city of Istanbul. The rooms were beautifully furnished with well stocked bathrooms including toiletries and towelling slippers embroidered with the... more

My wife and I went to Istanbul in June and stayed at the Sultanhan Hotel for five nights and it was absolutely GREAT. Right upon entering the hotel we were impressed by their beautiful and spacious lobby. The room we stayed in was very nice, spacious and comfortable complete with all the necessary requirements. All the staff members of the... more

I'm just back from Istanbul and stayed at three hotels: The Sultanhan, the W, and the Hyatt. Three different properties with distinct styles and of the three, the Sultanhan was by far the favorite. It wasn't just the room, which was large, bright, spotless, quiet, with a good sized bathroom with good hot water. Nor was it the roof terrace,... more

Istanbul is probably the most fascinating place I have ever been to. I would highly recommend to stay on a hotel in the old city, Sultanahmet, to experience the real thing. I stayed for nearly a week at the Sultanhan Hotel. I highly recommend this hotel, the location was perfect, right in the heart of Sultanahmet. The overall hotel fine,... more

Stayed here in May for 5 nights with my wife. The staff are great - really helpful; the hotel is in a quiet street just metres from the main tram street and only minutes from the key sites and 10/15 mins from the ferry port. The roof restaurant has great views, a great breakfast and a lovely drinks terrace. Room... more

Located in the midst of Sultanahmet, the core of tourist sites in Istanbul. Terrace restaurant food selection and preparation was very good. Both breakfast and dinner waiters were very kind and efficient. Menu contained a wide variety of meals. Great presentation! Rooms were nice and clean, though not large. But then, we didn't travel there to spend a lot of... more

We spent the last two days of a 9 Turkish vacation here and were very pleased with this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff very helpful and friendly, the hotel very clean, and the food above average. The food staff was especially friendly and helpful. The lobby was spacious and well lit. The bathrooms were small, but workable and... more

Having booked this hotel largely because of the positive feedback from this site it is disappointing to post a negative review. After booking a double room (clearly stated on the booking form) the hotel put us in a twin room. When we asked to be moved we were put in the smallest room where the bathroom door would hit the... more
