An amazing honeymoonWe stayed for one night on a tour. The room was nice, but a bit worn. Food was great. The location is amazing; great views, walking distance to the Baha'i Gardens and the nicer area of Haifa. The pool was a bit dirty and had missing tiles. more
Stayed at the Dan Carmel for the Passover holiday. Of course, it was very crowded, with many large groups, but nonetheless, the staff were very attentive. Although the hotel looks like a throwback to the '70s, it is spotlessly clean and the amenities are fine. As the hotel accommodates strictly religious guests, you should be aware that the King size... more
We stayed here for one night as part of our Isram Tours package. The hotel has a marvelous view of Haifa harbor and the bay, and overlooks the Baha'i Gardens and Shrine. The rooms are decorated in wood and burgundy colors that seem a bit on the dark side. No coffee service in the room was a negative. But the... more
15 years ago I had stayed at the Hotel Dan Carmel twice while visiting Haifa on business. I remembered the wonderful view of the harbor. Recently I had again begun to work with colleagues in Haifa and in phone conversations they had reconfirmed their impression that the Dan Carmel is the nicest hotel in Haifa. As such, I was pleased... more
Arrived with a group at 9 pm directly from Ben Gurion airport. Hotel was kind enough to keep their dining room open to feed a group of hungry and tired travelers. The hotel commands a beautiful view of Haifa and the Med Sea and is just around the corner from the Bahai Gardens and other Mont Carmel sites. The Israeli... more
I was quite impressed with this hotel despite questionable reviews on Trip Advisor. The location at the top of Mt. Carmel is great, the views are spectacular and the hotel is clean, nicely decorated if slightly outdated. Hotel staff are accomodating but a bit rough - it's the Israeli culture, nothing personal. Overall, would go back again and recommend to... more
We had been told it was the nicest hotel in Haifa, but my family and I were very surprised at how very worn out the whole hotel was. chipped paint, stained carpets, faded everything, and very very dated design. A bench seat in the bar had lost all it's padding and I sat down directly on the edge of a... more
surprized for the better - very well kept hotel, 4-5 star quality even though its an older building, very nice new and clean rooms and facilities, amazing view to the bay of Haifa + view of Acre and Lebanon. Good food, good staff, very nice stay! more
I probably last stayed at the Dan Carmel when I was a young kid, perhaps 30 years ago. I don't think the decor can have changed much, but it was perfectly clean, comfortable and the views were amazing. A short walk takes you to some food and other local shoping. The hotel gift shop was good too. Staff were efficient. more
