Upon entering the hotel, I was impressed - a multi-storey atrium, waterfall, expansive lobby. The room (501) presented well as I entered. I spent 5 nights there and my view changed. The former Hyatt is a grand property that is not being maintained properly. My bedsheets had a blood-stain! The carpet was not vacuumed. The bathroom appears to be a... more

Our stay at this former beautiful Hyatt hotel was a bit sad because this was the place to be about 16 years ago when I was studying down the street at the Hebrew University. Now, this hotel has lots of rust throughout, stains, funny smells and signs falling off the walls. The rooms are old, simplistic and falling apart. My... more

As part of a tour group of 300 people, I spent 5 nights at the Regency Hotel on top of Mt Scopus in Jerusalem. The location was a major downer, because I really didn't have much activity planned on top of Mt Scopus. The distance to the wall and the Old City required that we take a cab ride to... more

I stayed here as it was the location of a conference I was visiting. My wife and I flew in from London overnight and as a precaution I had booked a room for the night before so we would be sure to have a room on arrival. Sure enough we did (Rm 109), but it had no working aircon and... more

My husband and I traveled to Jerusalem from Jordan for a 2 night stay at this hotel. As soon as we arrived we knew we had made a mistake. The hotel is in terrible condition. The rooms were so shocking we decided to leave immediatley to see the sites as there was no way we could relax in the room... more

After spending 3 days in the wonderful hotel in Conrad Hotel in Cairo and 4 days in the Hyatt on the red sea on the border in Taba We were looking forward to Jerusalem and staying at the regency. I was extremely dissapointed since we arrived till when we left. It took 10 minutes to find someone to take our... more

I have stayed at the Regency almost twice a year since 2001, and although (due to the Intifada) the hotel seems to be getting a bit long-in-the-tooth, it's still a great place to stay. The rates are reasonable, the food is very good, the staff are efficient and courteous and the rooms are a bit larger than the norm. I've... more

This hotel may work for you, but consider carefully. This hotel was built as a large, modern, full service 4 star property. Unfortunately, the hotel opened just at the beginning of the intifada, when tourism plunged. As a result, the hotel has never had the traffic necessary to support either the range or quality of services one might expect at... more
