Having stayed at the Palatin a couple of years ago with our children, my wife and I decided to book again for our recent trip. Amazingly, as soon as we walked in, the man at the desk remembered that we were there before, and upgraded us to one of the newer, renovated rooms. They are markedly different than the older... more

The Palatin Hotel has three type of rooms and we were in a budget room. We have travelled widely and have no problem with small bedrooms and/or tiny bathrooms but have to draw the line at filth and leaking toilets. Because of the leaking toilet we were shifted to another room which had similar problems to the first room. The... more

The Palatin Hotel in Jerusalem is located in walking distance from a great pedestrian mall. However, we were given one of the unrenovated rooms- and perhaps charged less than folks pay for the new rooms- but it is way overpriced for the size of the room and the decor. Our Lonely Planet guide said the art work in the hallways... more

While the rooms are small by American standards, our room was well equiped including a flat screen TV, AC and phone. The breakfast was very good with eggs, salads, a variety of cheeses, and coffe/tea (which is available 24/7). The staff is very helpful, carrying our bags to our room, and letting us store our bags at the Palatin when... more

Admittedly, the hotel has a few disadvantages. * The rooms are small, and so are the bathrooms. But everything is clean and reasonably complete. * Complementary breakfast is a bit limited in choice. * You have to walk about 100 meters to get to hotel and climb some stairs to get to reception desk (no elevator) But if you are... more

Good location for this 2 star hotel, being close to old city -15 min walk-and nearby Jaffa road with restraunts, but rooms small despite booking superior room-they were clean however. No pool. Staff able to book trips or taxis if required. Breakfast adequate. You may do better in Jerusalem but reasonably priced overall. more

I am an independent traveler and looked long and hard for a reasonably-priced hotel in Jerusalem that had at least ok reviews on Trip Advisor. I thought I had found a reasonable option in the Palatin Hotel, but I was disappointed overall. First of all, the hotel has no map of its location on its website, and online maps of... more

The lobby is one floor up from the street and the rooms are on floors above that and there is no elevator so this hotel wouldn't be suitable for someone who can't handle the stairs. This pleasant hotel is in a central location walking distance to the Old City and even closer to shopping on Ben Yehuda. The hotel staff... more

I stayed in the hotel in March 2008 for 4 days 3 nights. What I liked was the location: very close to the walking streets it the city center. The bad thing is that the rooms are very worn: shabby carpet which looks like it was never vacuumed, especially in the corners (probably it was, but it is so old... more

Me and my dad have just returned from a week at the Palatin and we had a great time. We had quite a limited budget and the Palatin was the best we could afford. Personally I think the place is great value for money. The bad reviews did put me off a bit but I can only assume that those... more
