My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Israel in the beginning of July, and I'm sorry to report that we did not have a good experience at the Jerusalem hotel. Our flight arrived very late, and we reached the hotel around midnight. I booked this hotel, based on the reviews on this website, and in other... more

I have stayed at the Jerusalem Hotel twice (last year, I was there for six weeks and this year for only two). I will never stay anywhere else in Jerusalem--this is one of those places where you can feel completely at home if you allow yourself. The staff are lovely and helpful. The hotel itself has more charm and character... more

After a group tour of Israel, I extended in Jerusalem for three additional nights. I chose this hotel after doing some Internet research including Tripadvisor web site. I enjoyed the hotel because I enjoy independent travel and enjoy smaller hotels. What the Tripadvisor reviews said was accurate. This hotel is unique, the building is old but facinating. I can see... more

Stayed at the Jerusalem Hotel for 4 nights. Lovely old building but, as other reviewers have commented, service a bit hit & miss. And more miss than hit, particularly in the restaurant. Room was OK but one of the tiniest bathrooms I have ever had! Noise was also an issue; my room opened out onto the main lobby. But the... more

The Jerusalem Hotel was wonderful from start to finish! We stayed here for a week and were sad to leave. We actually crossed the border from Jordan across the King Hussein/Allenby bridge into Jerusalem, which was much easier than I thought it would've been. The hotel itself is a boutique property that must've been a private townhouse at one time.... more

The hotel is OK. Location is good, price reasonable and there are some nice characterful aspects to the interior. However, the decor and food in the restaurant are tired (even the menus themselves are tatty) and the service can be terrible. This place could be a lot better with a bit more energy from the management. more

I contacted the hotel directly to obtain rates and reserved the rooms through them. There were 3 of us so I reserved a single room and a double room for myself and my wife. The room allocated to me had twin beds rather than a double so they swapped rooms the following night to one with beds pushed together. The... more

stayed here for 5 nights in Feb 08 and was happy with the heating ( didn't expect much after reading the last review about the heating & hot water) the location is a plus vs. king david (where I had a meal) and american colony (where I had drinks) right next to Dasmascus gate at a fraction of the price... more

We stayed at the Jerusalem for several nights in January 2008. Unfortunately, the weather being particularly cold coincided with probelems the hotel was having with it's hot water and heating. The building and furniture are wonderful but the place is very dark and quite tired. Cleaning is not all it should be. We had a small room with single beds.... more

Spent a week in Nov 07 at this hotel. Superb location for the old city, 2 mins from Damascus Gate. Staff friendly and rooms are great if you want that 'old jerusalem' feel. Food superb. I would stop at this hotel again in the future. more
