To be honest, when we read the 2 previous review and learnt from our tour agent we stay in this hotel, we were a little bit upset and we expected the worst... Hopefully, things were totally different! We stayed 3 wonderful and memorable nights there and everything was PERFECT! The staff was thoughful and always available to help, food was... more

Aside from the attractive garden setting, this hotel was a major disappointment, and we found it to be very overpriced for the money. For starters, the "swimming pool" is really more of a decorative basin than a pool. Then rooms are very worn, poorly maintained and not very clean. Three mornings running, the hot water ran out, too. We found... more

The Pansea has a beautiful setting with a pond on one side and swimming pool on the other side of a long, wooden plank that takes you to the reception area. Lots of greenery and trees and colonial charm are the pluses. Rooms are spacious with minimal, simple decore and the staff tries really hard to impress. Breakfast by the... more

We love the colonial building an the huge garden. After sightseeing, we liked to swim in the big pool and relax on the sunlounger. Food is european (french, italian) and asia. The quality is good and is nicely presented. You can dine either on the wooden terrasse or in the garden (very romantiv at night). If you like barbecue, enjoy... more

We stayed at the Governors residence during November 2005. The hotel is a wonderful quiet oasis. Rooms are large with good amenities and they take credit cards. Breakfast on the porch overlooking the grounds is a pleasant and relaxing way to start the day. more

We started our trip to Burma with one night at the Governor's Residence (we also stayed at the Inle Princess, the Mandalay Sedona, the Thiripsaya Sakura and two nights in a Royal Bungalow at the Kandawygi Palace on our return to Yangon), and found it the most charming of all of the hotels we stayed in. Did not eat dinner... more

Was in Burma for more than 2 weeks, and slept in hotel ranking from 5 star to very low category. The Pansea is certainly the worst value for money : my room was more than dirty, full of dust, windows were so dirty. TV was not working upon arrival. Lanscaping in front of my room was very poor, bell boys... more

We stayed at the Governors Residence last November on our way round Burma. Our arrival was announced by a gong and when we walked across a teak walkway, surrounded by lilly pads, I thought I was in heaven. I have never arrived at a hotel anyway in the world that had a more romantic entranceway. The hotel has a lovely... more
