The Marriott hotel located on Zamalek island in the very centre of Cairo consists of two highrise hotel towers (Gezira tower and Zamalek tower), and an old 19th century palace building in the middle, now acting as lobby, casino, meeting rooms, shopping & restaurant area. I think the layout works very well and does justice to the glory of the... more

Beautifully redone hotel with scrumptious buffet breakfasts and well appointed and quiet rooms. Definately felt safe and very cool to stay in refurbished palace. Decent location for restaurants but definately not close to lots of places to eat. more

The hotel is situated in a good location with nice views of the Nile. The rooms are large and clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel has a good swimming pool (a bit too much chlorine tough) and a nice gym and spa. I enjoyed the outdoor café and restaurant, and had an enjoyable stay. It is... more

My husband and I stayed at the Cairo Marriott in June, 2008. We enjoyed our stay here. It is located in a neighorhood that is relatively quite (for Cairo) where you can walk around the neighborhood. There is wonderful ceremics museum on the street right behind the hotel. The hotel is very large with many restaurants, sitting areas, shops.. Getting... more

Having been told we'd have to wait an hour for our room even though it was already 2pm i was very unimpressed. Having gone back back numerous times and finally getting a room key 2 hours later i was even more angry when the room key didnt work, as the room was 10 min walk away from lobby. the key... more

We chose an 'Executive Room', which seems to be a standard room with access to the Executive Lounge. More on that later... Room was smaller than I'd expected, but a good-sized balcony with a view over the pool and the Nile to the right. Bed was big, comfy, lots of pillows, the usual Marriott standard. There was only just enough... more

I've stayed in Cairo Marriot before renovations and I was very sceptical of re-booking despite my travel agent's assurances that the hotel's rooms are now in an excellent condition. Hotel's main building (lobby and corridors leading to breakfast room) as well as the spectacular gardens were always and remain the highlights of this hotel. Rooms are lovely refurbished however they... more

I had a short break (four days) at the Cairo Marriott last week. My choice was suggested by my teenager daughter Isabella, who had seen some pictures of the “historical” wing of this hotel on a travel brochure. The fact proved her right. These are my comments: 1. General The hotel is very well kept. Everything is clean and appear... more

We stayed here for five nights with two small kids and it was wonderful. We loved visiting the sites of Cairo but it was so nice to relax at the pool and dine at the restaurants in the hotel. We traveled without a tour group and had no connections so it was a little nerve racking arranging this trip on... more

The tour that we booked included 4 nights at this hotel, which was amazing. This was one of the nicest hotels I've stayed at, even by US standards. The rooms were very tastefully furnished and the staff was extremely helpful. It's a hotel that caters primarily to tourist and the very affluent, so you don't get a real feel of... more
