This hotel is dull and tired and could do with major refurbishment. We stayed here between 26th-30th June 2008. Our room was dull, sparse and naked. Everywhere could do with a good bucket of soapy water and a sponge, the walls in parts were dirty. The pictures on the net are very bright, I found this hotel very dark indeed.... more

I stayed in the Hotel Mercure for 1 week, bed and breakfast, in June of last year and had a pleasant stay. The downstairs restaurant wasn't really up to much, as it didn't have anything "authentic" on the menu. The breakfast in the medina was lovely, everything was fresh and you could get anything from scrambled egg on toast to... more

I have just returned from a 2 week holiday in Luxor staying at the Mercure Hotel, which is right in the heart of Luxor overlooking the Nile which my room overlooked at no extra charge. I have stayed at this hotel before 6years ago and since then I have read a few negative reviews, but I have to say that... more

Went to Egypt for first time and decided on Luxor. To be honest we booked the Mercure because of the price and what a great choice we made. The hotel was clean and tidy and offered various different places to eat - although a little pricy compared with other places to eat. The staff were great and we had pool... more

I booked a week at the mercure with a group of 18 students the guest relations manager promised us football this never happened the music is too loud on a night if you are in the old block especially if you plan to get up to view temples, tombs etc, the only saving grace was the relaxed atmosphere in Yorkshire... more

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Mercure Luxor. We were a bit hesitant about the hotel after reading some of the reviews but we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. We can't understand where the bad reviews came from as we experienced no problems. The hotel staff are very friendly and couldn't do enough for you, the... more

I returned yesterday from a week at the Mercure. I was a little bit hesitant about staying there having read some of the reviews here but I was extremely pleasantly surprised. The best thing about this hotel is the staff. Almost without exception they were friendly and could not do enough for you. They were good fun but not too... more

We had stayed in the Nile Palace whilst we stayed in Luxor but our return flight was delayed by many hours (problem with plane). As the nile palace was fully booked we were unable to keep our rooms. Cosmos sent all the guests to the Mercure to get some sleep and freshen up whilst we awaited more news of when... more
