The Hotel's location is one good reason for my staying there with it's easy access to the souk and nearby restuarants. It is run down and in need to a lick of paint, however it shows iniative with its revamped Indian Restuarant offering an excellent menu choice accompanied by a nice cold beer. Found the Venus Hotel to be a bit run down, dirty and if you have one of the front rooms, really noisy. It could easily be a nicer place with a bit of TLC, but has been run down a fair bit. The owner and staff are really friendly and helpful, but the rooms and the place is feeling a... more

Had a wonderful time staying at the Venus, thanks to the friendly staff, central location, fun bar with belly-dance shows, cheap beer, bicycles for rent, breakfast, rooftop sitting area, proximity to restaurants at any time of the day! Ask for Hassan, the manager who is usually based in Japan - he's an honest, kind, trustworthy man! Enjoy!! more
