A Wonderful Hotel in Karen some 15 minutes drive from Jomo Kenyatta Airport. The hotel is colonial style. We stayed in the Saraha Room , it was large comfortable and the beds so inviting after a long flight. The food was top class as were all the staff we encountered. A very warm welcome. The gardens and swimming pool were beautiful.... more

House of Waine is in a beautiful location, with a pristine pool and gardens, an oasis for relaxing after a long flight or safari. You couldn't ask for a more pleasant, hospitable staff, who did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. At the beginning of our trip, we stayed in the Safari room, before setting out on our... more

Perfect all around: food, rooms, service, etc. Very well maintained property, close to Wilson airport, Nairobi park etc. Easy to get to International airport, avoiding the City centre. Very safe area (Karen) and well guarded. Free internet in the room. more

House of Waine was basically the transit hotel that we used in Nairobi before starting and ending our safari. However it turned out to be a really lovely hotel. Not quite at the level of the lodges in the safari but much cheaper. Huge rooms with massive bathrooms and a lovely large bathtub for relaxing in after the long flight.... more

We booked this hotel as we had to stay overnight in Nairobi due to flight connections but were shocked at just how professional, courteous the staff were and how pretty the grounds and rooms were. The experience was even better than the luxurious game lodge in the masai mara we had booked for the rest of our trip which costs... more

website www.houseofwaine.com We stayed in Malaika, which is the best room in the house! It’s so enormous--like a grand ballroom with the hardwood ceilings and floors. There are two separate seating arrangements, each with two sofas and a chair, huge four-poster canopy bed, large terrace with two lounge chairs (the cushions are in the closet), enormous closet and dressing room.... more

What a nice surprise! I only spent one night at the House of Waine before heading out for a two-week safari but I still loved my short stay at the hotel. You have to pass through two gates both manned by armed guards to get to the front door so you feel extremely secure despite Nairobi's reputation for crime. After... more

I spent the last night of my trip at the House of Waine, I didn't expect much just somewhere to stay before the flight home the following morning... I could not have been more wrong. We arrived at around midday to find a beautifully made table on in the back garden, from that point on we knew that we were... more

House of Waine is a true gem! This cozy little oasis is the perfect destination for an R&R stay after a long international flight, or to get away for a few days. You'll never know you're in the middle of bustling Nairobi. It is cozy and elegant with beautiful grounds (love the heated pool!!), delicious food, gracious staff, and excellent... more

This place is amazing and the best place to stop over after a long flight from the UK. We booked to stay one night in The House of Waine at the start of our honeymoon in Kenya and Zanzibar (see other reviews of Shompole and Breezes) and how we had wished we had booked more time here! On arrival in... more
