This place is amazing and the best place to stop over after a long flight from the UK. We used the House of Waine as our Nairobi home base while honeymoon travelling in Kenya, Tanzania and Seychelles. In between trips we kept returning here and they were always extremely polite, friendly, accomodating and served excellent food. It is a family operation with the owners usually being the ones to greet you. I can't say enough good things about... more

Wonderful hotel in Nairobi - or rather the suburb of Karen on the outskirts of Nairobi! By the way, this is a blessing as Niarobi is a frightening city so the House of Waine is a delight and far removed from any stress and violence. I have not felt safer in an African capital city! The House of Waine is a lovely place to stay in Nairobi. It could be anywhere. They catered wonderfully to my family's fat-free vegan diet and my problems with Gluten. The African art and staff are the only reminders that you are actually in Africa, everything is so well put together. They did seem to have a problem with their... more
