We were on a two week holiday at the Travellers Club in December last year. Having read all the reviews before going we had high expectations and they were all exceeded! In my opinion this is the best hotel of its type Kenyan Coast, having said that, it probably is the best regardless of its type and price range. The... more

well what can i say. 2006 was the 5th year we had stayed at the travellers, and are hoping to go back this year. hotel is smaller than most, but the quality is excellent. it is kept emaculate by great staff, who we have got to know over the years. food is very good, and plenty of it. rooms are very clean and large.... more

24 Dec 2007 - 8 Jan 2008 We flew out on monarch A330 which is a vast improvement over the B767 which is also used on this route. On arrival the reception area is spectacular and the staff very welcoming . The rooms are large, very clean and have good air conditioning. Having stay at voyager the last time we... more

We arrived in Mombassa on the 3rd December to soaring tempratures. It is a cultual shock to Europeans going through to the hotel, so busy with cars and people walking in the road, shacks for housing and quite dirty. Once we arrived at Travellers we were greeted with large smiles and cries of JAMBO from all staff and a nice... more

When I arrived in Mombasa airport it felt like stepping into a movie, the Last King of Scotland springs to mind. The place was buzzing, literally, with creatures and people. The heat was immediately noticeable and fairly oppressive, especially for overdressed Europeans. Driving through the city was a culture shock, the ramshackle buildings, not much more than shanty towns, but... more

Like another reviewer, we were on the Monarch flights. We had not paid for premium seats, but did have the stop-off at Gatwick, coupled with a long wait due to engine problems. The in-flight entertainment is so poor as to be almost useless; no seat-back screens, just the odd large TV which you have to crane your necks to see.... more

We flew out with Monarch which was a disaster. Having upgraded to Premium, the grumpy check in girl gave us seats for economy, which caused no end of problems as Monarch had no idea whatsoever how many people were on board. We were given tickets for another set of seats that were already occupied, then stood whilst the plane boaded... more

Very difficult to fault the hotel or its staff. Hotel was clean, and laid out with different areas to relax in to suit all tastes. Loud and active to quiet and lazy. Full sun to dappled shade with sea breeze. Food was good and well presented with a good choice but i could see that it would get repetitive after... more

Just returned from a week at the 'Travellers Club' Mombasa. Good Points - Very helpful and friendly staff (and the thomas Cook rep) . Not many kids at the Hotel, so it was quite quiet. There are 2 pools that each made up of smaller pools, and each with its own Pool Bar- excellent service at both. You will not... more
