Don’t take notice of the negative reports about Nyali Beach. We can’t believe they went to the same hotel as us. You can’t expect the sort of hotels in Kenya, which is a Third World Country after all, as you would expect in Europe. We went there on our first visit to Africa in September 2007 after the most wonderful... more

After reading a terrible review I feel I must say how much we enjoyed our 2 week stay. This was our third return visit and were due to go this year but were dissuaded by the troubles in Kenya generally. Each time we have been we have had a wonderful experience. The food and accommodation are excellent and the staff... more

Feel compelled to write a review after reading some not so good ones! We stayed at Nyali Beach Hotel for 8 days in August for our honeymoon and we had the most fabulous holiday - definetely once in a lifetime experience! We found the food was better than we expected and we ate a large variety of foods - including... more

Horendous service. We had such high hopes for our honeymoon, after all it is a once in a lifetime thing. The hotel is filthy and well due refurbishment. The staff weren't expecting our arrival so we never did get the honeymoon package my husband had arranged. Just a plate of rotting food. Throughout the stay we both got ill as... more

I do not know where to start, any way if your idea of a holiday from Hell -then you are welcome to Nyali Beach Hotel .Our dream destination turned into a holiday nightmare. Guests complained of cockroaches in the restaurant and food that was poorly cooked. We might as well have stayed at home for all the benefit we got... more

Arrived on xmas day for three day stay before going on safari. Had room on top floor of garden wing(437) which was very nice, large and fully equipped with everything we could want. Staff excellent, very polite and helpful and didn't feel pushed into tipping but we did anyway. Food at all times very good and the way they organised... more

Our last 9 days of a Nairobi, Safari and Beach holiday were spent at the Nyali Beach Hotel. We had a room in the Palm Wing so comfortable. Mombasa beaches are paradise on earth. However, the staff at the Nyali Beach absolutely made our holiday. Like others have said a bit of Swahili goes a long way, jambo, and asante... more

Booked with Virgin Holidays (Worldwide) Date of holiday 05.08.07 - 22.08.07 The Nyali beach is a lovely, well located, colonial feel hotel, it doesn't have the impersonal feel of chain hotels, and the staff are amazingly friendly, helpful and efficient. You must learn to say "Jambo!" and repeat it often! Our room (a palm wing room) was faultless, spacious, well... more

We stayed at the Nyali Beach Hotel from 3rd Sept 07 for 2 weeks, returning only last week and we both have withdrawel symptoms already. We had also heard that the Hotel was looking a little tired, which in places it was, but some friends had recommended it so we knew something of what we were letting ourselves in for.... more

The hotel has a very pretty location with excellent views over the Indian Ocean and the colonial history of the hotel certainly gives it more charm than the chain hotels that can be found. The hotels main restaurant is good and there is plenty of variety so there should be something for most palates as written in another review there... more
