If what i have experieced is "Hospitality At It's Royal Best", then it's almost an insult to the royalty. The hotel - has 3 blocks of rooms and 1 block of residence. The older lobby was beautiful with lots of character and adjacent to the pool. However, check in was consolidated at the Lagoon Tower where I was housed -... more

The Sultan is the former Hilton Hotel in Jakarta, but in my opinion, and at least on the Executive floor of the Lagoon Tower, the standards of service are much better than they would have been at the Hilton. And it's not so much the great B/F buffet with personal service, or the Happy Hour with lots of delicious refreshments... more

Great hotel and good buffet spread. Nice breakfast! The Sultan is nestled amongst lush greenery and therefore is secluded from the hustle and bustle yet its right in the city. Great pool and nice rooms. Staff and service can be improved to match the hotels good standards. more

There are lots of restaurants in the hotel. We spent the afternoon at the pool and had our food brought to us there. My husband used to live at this hotel as a child when it was still the Hilton. He ordered a club sandwich and vanilla milkshake (Indonesian milkshakes are soooooooooo gross!) which was what he always ate for... more

Unfriendly unmovable and typifies all the bad things about Indonesia. I love the pool and the hotel breakfast is good and the hotel has potential but it is ruined by uncomprimising staff who cant think outside rules that make little sense. So much potential so little effort! more

The Sultan Jakarta is an impressive hotel, but I did have a few issues with it. I would recommend the hotel for anyone attending a conference at the Jakarta Convention Centre - the hotel is linked by an underground tunnel, which means that you don't have to battle the traffic on the streets. The hotel itself is aesthetically grand, and... more

The hotel is located at the city center area, which has its plus and minuses. The hotel complex is indeed very large. The hotel is very Java in atmosphere, but has quite worn out. The elevators are ancient, and the hallways in each floor are not air-conditioned. Rooms, although large, has quite worn out. Bathroom also not that nice. Breakfast... more

I stayed in hotel during business trip. This hotel has imposing structure and has several towers inside the campus. There is no doubt that this is a magnificient built hotel and has beautiful rooms with magnificient city views. There are plenty of restaurants in hotel to chose from. However what is missing in hotel is smiles. I havent seen any... more

As a 5 star hotel, we were very dissapointed with the overall service. The receptionist were not helpful when we requested for 2 single beds and we need to go about twice until we get the room that we wanted. Hoping for best services from a 5 star hotels, my family wanted to visit the nearby malls by the shuttle... more

My distributor in Indonesia booked this hotel for a rate of USD 75++ for a two night stay during the month of August 2005. I was surprised to see that the reception does not have the number of employees necessary to speed up the check-in process upon my arrival at 11PM. Baggage handling was OK. The room was just ok,... more
