Get a deluxe room. The standard room we saw was dumpy and tired looking. We were upgraded to a deluxe after protesting that we didn’t want to be in a smoking (though we booked non smoking) standard room due to the smoke and musty smell, and the bad condition of the room. Stayed in the Novotel for 3 nights purely because in Singapore the normal sequence of events is to end up in Clarke Quay for dinner at the end of the night, and the 50m walk to bed is very convenient. The Novotel at Clarke Quay was perfect for our 4 day stopover. The pool area was huge, and the staff were extremely attentive. Our suite was stunning, perfect for a small family! There are many options for eating and seeing the sites of Singapore as you are located right in the middle of Clarke Quay. We would definitely stay there... more
