Following extensive research on hotel accommodation in Santiago (obviously I didn't research hard enough!), I decided upon the Crowne Plaza. I booked an "executive" room. When I saw the pilots and airline stewards and stewardesses at the desk, I knew that this was going to be a good hotel. It lived up to all the best reviews on tripadvisor.
