We stayed at the Hotel Neruda February 15 to the 17 2008 prior to taking a cruise from Valparaiso. I did a lot of research online on the city of Santiago and decided that the area I would concentrate on was Providencia. I booked the hotel online through one of the Chile tourists sites. It was our first trip to... more

We chose Hotel Neruda because of its location. Providencia is a fun, safe neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants. The hotel is one block away from the metro and calls itself a 5 star. There were a few things I didn' t like about this hotel. We stayed in a standard room, so take that into consideration when reading... more

It is anounced in the web page of the apart hotel that it is a 5 stars place and that it have air conditioned. When we arrived (we had already paid) they told us it wasn´t true! It hasn´t conditioned air. The room was dirty, the bath had broken parts. more

The number of staff is quite low. It took 45 minutes to check in, even though we had booked over the internet. There was no doorman and one bell boy. The bartenders also served as the only waiters in the restaurant. They had no ice at the bar. Toilet in our room did not work. The sheets were not fitted... more

I tayed in the hotel for about a week for business. Breakfast was good can complaint - Latin American food is real good and those little hot buns are the best. Room was clean, and safe. The hotell staff was helpful for Latin American Standards. Would recommend it no doubt. more

All we wanted out of this hotel was classy treat to top off 3 weeks travelling in south america on a high. This place was a disaster from start to finish. our room was ground floor and had half of santiago walking by the window & dodgy characters lingering outside. the second room had faulty electrics which cut out when... more

Having checked out of the Orly after a sleepless night I checked into Hotel Neruda. The check in staff were great and allocated me the quietest room in the hotel. The room itself was huge (four times the size of Orly) and well appointed. Great bathroom and shower. Excellent breakfast (included in room rate). Great location in providencia. Highly recommend... more

This small, beautiful hotel sits on a tree-lined street across from a stately Victorian-era museum. The lobby/breakfast room is modern, attractive and welcoming. Two small elevators take guests to the upper floors which have not been updated, but are clean and well-lighted. Our room was a HUGE surprise--as we had reserved a Double at an economy rate (about $80/night). It... more

Spent 3 days at the Neruda. Great location, great breakfast but the hotel needs to be upgraded. The air condition was not strong enough, the bathroom cabinets were worn. Room service and housekeeping was very good. The pool was too hot and the water was not clear. Work needs to be done to be a 3 star hotel. more

My family and friends stayed at Hotel Neruda for my wedding. Hardly any of the staff spoke English and I could NEVER get through on the phone line to speak with my family. Some friends stayed at the Apart-Hotel of Hotel Neruda and there was construction going on the whole time. Other guests could never get the key to the... more
