Wow is all I can say as well as THANK GOD they were booked the next night. I arrived at the Brighton hotel two days before I left on a cruise mid April 2008, we were looking for a quick cheap place to stay so my companions checked in a Fodor's guide and it said only great things about the... more

I stayed at the Brighton last week, while taking a side trip from Santiago. I was alone, and the Brighton was a nice place to stay as a solo traveler because it was comfortable enough to stay in the room at night, read my book and write in my journal. Plus the restaurant downstairs is very decent and has a... more

You can't beat the view from this hotel's terrace but don't stay there. What has been said in other reviews about the unprofessional/rude staff is true. We were three couples who stayed there for one night early March, 2008. We didn,t get much sleep as loud music (live) from the restaurant kept us awake until around 3:00am. I had reserved... more

To be fair, I did not stay at the hotel. I went there on a beatiful spring afternoon to enjoy the view and have a coffee. What a bad idea. As other people have commented, the staff was awfully rude and the manager on duty was even worse. I tried to pay with a credit card and the waiter came... more

We stayed here two nights. The room we had was quite small but comfortable and on the lower floor. The bathroom was equally tiny but funtional. We had a great view from two windows looking out over the city. Everything in the room and bathroom worked fine, and the bed was comfortable enough. The building overall seemed in just OK... more

After reviewing the Brighton B & B and looking at its web-site my wife and I decided that it looked very charming and we would spend one night of our vacation here. The staff was not very friendly when we arrived and the "staff" was preoccupied more on the restaurant than the guest. The room was very small, the beds... more

After traveling around the area for three weeks, we were excited to stay at this seemingly beautiful place. It is a beautifully appointed place-- but the staff was ridiculous!!! There is no hotel staff-- just the people behind the bar, and the bar is certainly their priority. They couldn't find the key to our room, and were just very rude... more

The final stay of a ten week vacation in southern South America was to be at this most highly recommended Eden. It turned out to be anything but an Eden. The setting, on the Conception bluff with a comanding view of the city and harbor is terrific, but the good ends there. The old building is really showing its age... more

Having stayed at 26 other South American locations, we had our most disappointing stay at the Brighton. We were told in January that we would not need reservations for the low season, so we didn't make any at that time. After reservation problems, we finally were able to obtain a room after staying at another hotel for several days. They... more

This warning goes out to all potential travellers wanting to stay at this place. I was looking forward to our stay at the hotel when I received an email telling me that they were canceling my reservation and giving my room to some Germans that were planning on staying longer than I was. To their credit they did inform me... more
