La Casona is an average hotel with some pro's and con's. I cannot share the excitement of other visitors. Although it is in a quiet neighborhood, dog barking regularly wakes you up at early morning. Cuenca is a livable and enjoyable city, seemingly more prosperous than other parts of Ecuador, including Quito. La Casona is an attractive hotel with large, clean rooms and a friendly, helpful staff. The owners and staff at La Casona were incredibly friendly, spoke excellent English, and went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were comfortable and new our way around the city of Cuenca with all of its attractions. We stayed five nights here and enjoyed our time. The small hotel has no elevators and reminded my wife and I a little bit of small-town Europe. From what I could tell, there is no disability access. Had a wonderful stay here. La Casona is an beautiful mansion converted into a hotel. It is spotless, quiet, and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. A bargain for the quality and service. Would highly recommend this hotel. more
