My husband and I stayed at the Ariosto twice during our trip to Peru in January 2007. The staff was helpful and the rooms were clean. The rooms were basic (bed, tv, bathroom, closet, ac) but adequate. It is in a great location, walking distance to many shops and resturants. The in-house resturant was good too. Breakfast offered a wide... more

I stayed here for about a week while doing research in Lima; Miraflores was an excellent base (easy bus ride, as long as you have your nerves, or by taxi), and the Hotel Ariosto was a friendly, comfortable, hospitable and economical place to stay (particularly for a single 30-something female traveler). Quite good Peruvian dinners (although there are plenty of... more

Hotel Ariosto (Miraflores): I stay at Hotel Ariosto (Av. La Paz 769 Miraflores, Lima 18-Peru) November 23 & 24. I paid $75 nightly. The accomodations were basic but acceptable. It is extremely clean. It is located in a good area and in a reletevaly quite neiborhood (Lima, in my humble opinion, is quite noisey). Since the $75 rate (which includes... more

The room was fine with a good shower and an unexceptional view of the street. Quite nice area- shops selling antiques and silverware. Reception was adequate. Lounge/dining area a bit dreary-heavy furniture . We were collected at the airport. The high spot was breakfast - with an extremely wide choice of interesting and well-cooked food. more

ROOMS: We got the large room on the 6th floor and it was heaven. Good bed, fridge, windows and very, very clean! The bathrooms were spotless. They buffed all tile floors almost daily. Very clean. FOOD: The breakfast buffet is freshly prepared daily with authentic Peruvian breakfast dishes mixed in with typical American fare. The fresh, peeled fruit is layed... more

Ariosto worked for us as a pick right out of Lonely Planet. We stayed twice...before and after our flight to cuzco. $65 for a double with free transport to the airport (although I tipped for each ride). A double in our hostel of choise cost the same when facturing in cab rides to and from the airport. Hit-or-miss with the... more

This hotel, where we stayed for 2 nights, had its good and its bad sides... To start with the positive: we had the Republican Suite for 100$/night, which I think was a good deal because the room was really large with a very comfortable bed, mirror-wardrobe and otherwise quite nice furniture. But the real highlights of the suite were the... more

Well, being an extensive traveler around South America I know more or less what to expect from non-chain hotels (ie, Sheraton, Hyatt, Radisson....). Coming from Cusco, where I stayed at a three star cozy hotel, I wasn't expecting anything fabulous for the price. Just some place clean, cozy and with some taste after reviewing the comments. None of that: I... more

Our Backpack was stolen right from the front desk while we were eating breakfast. We were told to leave our bags at the front desk while we enjoyed their complimentary breakfast. We returned to head for the airport and our backpack was gone. No explanation, just "sorry". So after heading to the Tourism Police, the informed us that the Ariosto... more

We stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip in late August and one night at the end. Our room f($65 for a double) was very comfortable and the breakfast buffet was great. Our room was facing the courtyard which may be a little noisy in the morning with breakfast, so late sleepers may prefer to get a room... more
