This is a nice, clean hotel right in the middle of the town. Our room had a great view of the ruins we had come to see. We decided to come right here after flying into Cusco to adapt a little to the elevation at a spot 2000 ft lower. Graciela arranged a driver to pick us up at the... more

My husband and I stayed two nights at Hotel Sauce, located just outside the main square in Ollantaytambo. It cost a little more than we hoped to spend ($100), but we would definitely stay here again. We liked being away from the hustle of the market in the square, but we were still treated to local activity. Young students passed... more

From beginning to end, a great experience. Booking online was no problem by email with Graciela. We decided to begin our 10 days in Peru (after an overnight at the Lima Airport Ramada) in Ollantaytambo, which is lower elevation than Cusco, to get acclimated. Graciela in person was a delight. She was like a concierge, arranging taxis (at the best... more

This place was great. The view from the rooms of the ruins is spectacular. The staff was very helpful and one when one member of our party got sick, the manager gave him tea and offered to send some with us as we left. She also helped us with our train reservation to Machu Picchu and with restaurant reservations. The... more

I spent three nights at Hostal Sauce. My room (#15) had a beautiful view of the cloud-draped mountains and stepped terraces of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Early in the morning you'll hear a rooster crowing in the distance and cows being led up the cobblestone streets by their owners. The small channel of water running next to the hostal provides the... more

Just stayed at Hotel Sauce one night in Feb. and loved it. Our rooms were spotlessly clean, as was the newly tiled bathroom; we had all the hot water we could use, and there were nice touches as mentioned by other reviewers, like the chocolates, the "buenos noches" cards and miniature souvenir clay pots on the pillows. Our windows had... more

Having read earlier reviews, we were a little nervous about our impending stay at Hotel Sauce. After a death defying trip in a tuk tuk up the main road from the train station, we hurtled into the courtyard of the hotel and staggered out of our "vehicle" rather thankfully. The lady at reception was polite but reserved, until we spotted... more

The whole place was great. We had the best view out our window of the ruins. It is a nice little town and Hostal Sauce is in a great location. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The only bad thing was a dog that kept barking in the night - but that isn't really the... more

Ollytambo has'nt moved on for what appears100 years, but thats good. Hotel Sauce is well placed just off the main plaza. It is a bit pricey but when we opened our room curtains and saw the terraces of the ruins it was worth every penny. the staff try hard but are a little shy. Overall its fine. Whilst there go... more
