While the Marriott has far better service and perfect rooms, and is good for the business traveller, tourists are better off at the Miramar, warts and all. The Miiramar is only worth it if you book a deluxe ocean view - that way, you get a balcony and a truly fantastic view of the ocean and also the ships arriving... more

view is great, lobby smells, pool staff nonexistent.the desk staff was very friendly. the hotel cabs are a rip off avoid them.the one highlight of our stay was we were lucky enough to get to see a real live riot in front of the hotel, great pictures.hotel is way overpriced for its condition .the thing that topped everything off was to find... more

Although the staff was friendly, there were numerous problems at this very disappointing Intercontinental. Compared to other Intercons, this was well below average. First, the rooms for this level of a hotel are a bit beat up. The furniture needs to be replaced and walls showed numerous nicks and scuffs. The concierge was completly worthless and cleary had no "pull"... more

I read the previous review and disagree. This Intercontinental is quite different to other locations in that chain, as the reviewer pointed out, for a start it doesn't have carpeting. With that said, it doesn't make it a bad hotel. I have stayed at this hotel on several occassions and my review is based on a conglomerate of these stays.... more

To be blunt, Intercontinental tends to be one of those chains where the room, service, and amenities are almost identical no matter what city you're in around the world. From inside my room, this hotel could be in any one of a number of cities in completely different time zones. And I think that's one of the reasons some business... more

Well what can I say; this Hotel TODAY does not meet International Standards by no means it is totally outdated when it comes to Guest Service Standards, Product, Facilities and most of all price value. I have been in this Hotel this weekend and was to say the least surprised in many ways and wonder how Intercontinental operates a 5... more

I stayed here in October 2005 and this is definately the best hotel in Panama. I attended meetings in other hotels and was able to compare most. I also stayed in the Decapolis but this has it all. The location is right on the main road and on the water, the views are amazing. There are restaurants in and attached... more

I travelled to Panama City for the purpose of shopping and the culinary experience. I was not disappointed by any of the above. The hotel Intercontinental was the better of two hotels that I stayed at during my 5 days vacation. I got in at around 3am due to a delayed flight and was ever too excited to see the... more

As others have noted, this hotel has been largely used as a cash cow by owners ever since it opened in the 1990's. And it shows... Even in the best of times, this is your typical bland "international style" tower with forgettable rooms. But gone are days when the place was gleaming. If you get a "city-view" room like I... more

I can only assume that the hotel has undergone quite a lot of refurbishment in the last few months, judging by some of the other reviews. I stayed here for two nights - one at the start of my trip to Panama and one at the end. On the first night, I had a room on the 15th floor overlooking... more
