Although the staff was friendly, there were numerous problems at this very disappointing Intercontinental. Compared to other Intercons, this was well below average. First, the rooms for this level of a hotel are a bit beat up. The furniture needs to be replaced and walls showed numerous nicks and scuffs. I read the previous review and disagree. This Intercontinental is quite different to other locations in that chain, as the reviewer pointed out, for a start it doesn't have carpeting. To be blunt, Intercontinental tends to be one of those chains where the room, service, and amenities are almost identical no matter what city you're in around the world. I stayed here in October 2005 and this is definately the best hotel in Panama. I attended meetings in other hotels and was able to compare most. I also stayed in the Decapolis but this has it all.
