I absolutely loved my stay at the El Panama June 11 - June 15 2008. You may read one or two negative reviews on the hotel but I personally can't relate to these. The hotel is situated about 25 minutes from the airport in the El Cangrejo district which is basically the new center of town. There are restaurants, casinos,... more

Stayed one night at the El Panama Hotel between flights. The hotel is centrally located in downtown Panama City about a 30 minute drive from the airport. The hotel itself is very eye catching. It has an open lobby like a hotel in Hawaii, the staff is very friendly and the pool/restaurant area is very pretty. Free breakfast is provided... more

Just got back from a 3 night stay at El Panama with my girlfried. It was a welcome change from the 2 star hotel we were in the first two nights in the city. The hotel had a wonderful tropical feel which I loved. The breakfast was great (I gained at least 5 pounds from this alone) and the staff... more

We stayed at El Panama from 31 December 2007 to 2 January 2008. We found that the hotel is like a resort: the rooms are air conditioned, the hallways are open air. Everyone on staff was very polite. Check in was very quick, we waited until the crowd that came at check in time (3 p.m.) had left. We found... more

I stayed 5 nights at El Panama hotel, as a panamanian returning home for the holidays. I stayed on the executive floor (6th) - toilet didn't work in the first room we were assigned to, and we were assigned another room after numerous calls to complain. Maintenance came a few times but did not repair the toilet despite their multiple... more

I just returned from a 5-day trip to the beautiful country of Panama. I decided I would give the Hotel El Panama one more shot since I haven't stayed here in a few years. The pool is wonderful, huge, swim up bar and I love the layout of this property. It has so much potential if the right owners came... more

Stayed at El Panama for seven days and had a wonderful time. The serving staff wore traditional Panamian clothes -- which was a nice touch. Lobby and hallways are "open air" and make you feel like you are actually in "Old Panama." Food was great from breakfast buffet through dinner. However, service is a little slow in comparison to the... more

It was a great stay in El Panama hotel. The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful. I would even have to say it was very relaxing for a business trip. I would recommend the hotel to any business traveler or tourist. Thumbs up! more

The El Panama still thinks she is the belle of the ball. She is looking tired and service is lacking. I stayed in the executive suite. The two remotes didn't work, the safety box didn't work, the bathroom facet was broken, bathtub was worn. The decor was 1970's hip in black and white. Austin Powers would have been at home here... more

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the years. The sevice as gradually degraded. Things may be OK if you an NorthAmerican woman staying there but look out if you from a South Amerian country. They would noy let my girlfriend from Colombia register to stay in my room at 6:00 pm in the evening. Afterward have been... more
