We spend four night at this hotel from 11 to 15 August. The hotel is generally quite nice, but definitely not worth almost USD 200 per night. First of all, the hotel contacted us in advance to know about our arrival time and to ask for our passport details, but, once we got there, the room was not ready and... more

Loved this hotel. We did get an excellent deal on the price with trailfinders so we might have a better opinion than those paying full whack. The rooms was lovely with a nice bathroom and a nice balcony area. The pool area is lovely, not a huge pool but very nice. The staff were all excellent and the location very... more

As Laos was the place I was most looking forward to, this hotel was a little bit of a let down. The hotel itself looks very charming and has a lot of personality but for the price, I got a very small room, comfortable enough I guess but nothing like I would expect. The pool is small and very enclosed... more

The hotel is set in modestly sized but attractive grounds a conveniently easy ten minute stroll from the central market and a further ten from the river , bicycles are available . The style is colonial and pleasing on the eye although the rooms could do with updating . The shower was efficiently functional but had a bizarre orange shower... more

Here I was in a dreamy little UNESCO preserved city full of charm but my hotel was tres disappointing!! OH, the room was a shoe box & so poorly designed that the shower water got everything soaked! they tried to make it contemporary but design over function failed. Then the worse insult was adding sugar to the papaya juice! then... more

A friend and I paid nearly $200/night which is about the most you can pay in Luang Prabang. So, we expected top-of-the-line service. It is in a gorgeous old colonial building with a very hip pool and restaurant area and well-kept grounds. The location is just out of the town center, so it takes a few minutes to walk in... more

This was our second time staying at this hotel and the experience was flawless again. Delicious breakfast with good east and west selections. Wonderful experience swimming in the pool on a hot humid day. Our room was beautiful and clean. Rain showerhead with great pressure. The hotel put mosquito coils in the evening in our balcony that is overlooking the... more

I have read the other reviews of this hotel and I don't think they stayed at the same hotel we did. We had a wonderful time. The staff were great, the room was excellent, the balcony was huge, lots of large wicker furniture with soft cushions, a view over the pool and the well maintained gardens. Breakfast was great, lots... more

Maison Souvannaphoum may be one of the best 2 or 3 hotels in Luang Prabang. The location is close to the main street, the night market, the temples, the Mekong River and other attractions. The place itself is really nice. The rooms are tastily decorated and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are modern, creative and colorful. The staff is... more

We stayed at the Maison Souvannaphoum Hotel for 4 nights in March. We absolutely loved this hotel. The hotel is quite small (only 20 odd rooms) but the staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you - what you would expect from a large 5 star hotel. The rooms were a good size and clean although the bathroom is... more
