I should start by saying that all hotels in Torre del Paine Park area are expensive. Its a question of small supply of hotel rooms with a big demand. So you are paying over the odds everywhere, and have to accept that. We drove ourselves from Puerto Natales, so had the transport to get around the park. The park itself... more

We are a middle aged couple. Drove a 2-wheel drive car from El Calafate. Roads are rough, but dry on our visit, so no problem. We only had two nights in Torres de Paine. Wish we had a week. Rio Serrano is well-located if you have wheels. It would be especially convenient if you are coming from Puerto Natales. The... more

who needs one??????? just look to the window and the breathtaking view that is going to open before your eyes is simply amazing, there are no real words to describe that view. The room was ample and clean, food was pretty good (bit expensive, but nothing is cheap down there), and the best of all (aside of the view) was... more

We stayed here on a tour of Patagonia, so we did not have to arrange the transportation. Can easily understand the need fo 4-wheel drive. At first, we were disappointed to be outside the park. However the view from our room made up for it all. Be sure to get a river side room. You are looking directly through a... more

We decided to book this hotel (4 nights) after reading lot of reviews about Park accomodations (Explora was too expensive for our budget). We definetly think Serrano was pretty good if you have your own car (4 wheel) and if you like to drive 2/3 hours a day. Positive: food - rooms - organize all excursions (included horse-riding or zodiac-navigation... more

What a relief it was to check-in at the Rio Serrano after two nights in sub-standard accommodation at the Hosteria Las Torres. The rooms were large and all had wonderful views of the mountains. The food was very good with a fixed price meal every night with several choices: it seemed a little expensive but the tax is deducted from... more

I was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel was. It's pretty new, which helps. The public areas and guest rooms were quite beautiful and luxurious, and the staff were reasonably helpful. It's just outside the park boundaries, but every room has a fantastic view of the mountains of the national park. There are a few hotels in the park... more

getting there requires a 4 wheel drive on a muddy trail. Far from the park. Nice new hotel.... BUT, when we arrived as walk in no reservations, place was empty maybe three other parties in the entire big place. $260 for a room ???? negotiated price down to $160, if it were not for being tired and far from another... more

We were "bumped" out of our original hotel (Hosteria Los Torres) and ended up at the Rio Serranno which was a long way from where we wanted to be. The approach road is long and poor as are many in the Park. The hotel is an impressive and recent building with a golf course in the grounds. The inside of... more
