Hotel Baba Palace was a good place to be in Udaipur. The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel had rooms that had lots of character including, in our case a swing and glow stars on the ceiling - a lovely touch! The food was much better than the Lonely Planet suggests. Baba Palace’s location opposite the Jagdish temple is special but weird, and it turns into a problem when the chanting starts very early in the morning (or late in the evening). Baba Palaca has one big advantage - its location! Situated in the heart of udaipur, in the midst of the city (with a little place full of shopin front of the hotel), with roads so narrow, that cars might have a problem to pass (nevertheless they try hard to go through the old part of the town, causing traffic jams... more
