Me and 3 friends stayed in the Hotel Baba Palace this month for 2 nights. We found the rooms were really nice and clean, with everything you could possibly need including air conditioning (although we sometimes needed to call reception to get this turned on). I found the hotel was very reasonably priced and included a continental breakfast. The breakfast... more

We had a suite with a glassed in balcony overlloking the Jagdish Temple and the central crossroad of Udaipur. Forget views of the lake, far more happening and far more interesting to look down on all the activity outside. Double glazing of the balcony and the doors leading to it screened out the noise from outside. The hotel could have... more

We stayed at this hotel because all other hotels were full due to a high profile wedding celebration. I read the reviews and I thought it can't be that bad. The location is great, 2 minutes walking distance to the CIty Palace. The hotel is small but ok for the price. Our room were decent. It is extremely noisy though,... more

Hotel Baba Palace was a good place to be in Udaipur. The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel had rooms that had lots of character including, in our case a swing and glow stars on the ceiling - a lovely touch! The food was much better than the Lonely Planet suggests. There is a great view of the temple... more

Baba Palace’s location opposite the Jagdish temple is special but weird, and it turns into a problem when the chanting starts very early in the morning (or late in the evening). Our room faced this beautiful temple and even for a normally very hard sleeper it was impossible not to wake up at 5.30 AM. It lasts only about ten-fifteen... more

I stayed at the Baba Palace for a week in the middle of March 2007. As a woman traveling alone I felt safe at all times and loved being right in the middle of town. I appreciated the elevator, the nice clean room with cable televison, cold a/c (if they shut it down during the day, call the reception and... more

Baba Palaca has one big advantage - its location! Situated in the heart of udaipur, in the midst of the city (with a little place full of shopin front of the hotel), with roads so narrow, that cars might have a problem to pass (nevertheless they try hard to go through the old part of the town, causing traffic jams... more
