We could see upon our arrival that the Attaman was once a grand hotel. When we were there, there we not many guests, We asked for a Cave room and got a hot room that was constructed at the top of the hotel. This hotel was fantastic - our favorite one in Turkey. The cave rooms are huge and unique, with the bed in a little niche carved into the stone. The view was amazing. Dinner and breakfast were included, though dinner was a bit unremarkable. All in all, a fantantasic place to stay!! more

The Ataman Hotel in Goreme was one of the best hotels I stayed at during a month of driving around western Turkey, yet it hardly seems to get mentioned in guidebooks (it's not in Lonely Planet, for example).
