Most of the prior reviews have this right, so I will be brief. Moscow is extraordinarily expensive, so value is relative. My family of 4 found this hotel to be good value for Moscow. The plusses: 1) Location is very good, 10 minute stroll to Red Square and good restaurant choices in the neighborhood; 2) Staff is generally friendly, helpful... more

The Budapest Hotel was a big, old hotel a five minute walk from the Bolshoi Theater. It's lobby was nice and the staff pleasant. Our room was huge and "Old World". (My husband, who had been to Moscow before, said it was better than he had expected!) There wasn't a breakfast room in the hotel, so breakfast was brought to... more

I stayed in Budapest Hotel for 4 nights. My room was an individual room. The size was decent, with a desk and a chair besides the bed, and the bathroom was ample and recently renovated. As hotel prices go in Moscow this hotel is a good value. The internet conexion was expensive (20€ per day) but it worked perfectly. The... more

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel & really enjoyed it. I stayed for 3 nights in Dec. '07. I prearranged an airport p/u for $50 each way, which was excellent. This hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the Red Square. The whole area around this hotel & the Red Square was very nice, w/ Beverly Hills type... more

I recently spent 4 nights at Hotel Budapest in Moscow and my impression is that the hotel is a good budget hotel. The location could not be much better, maybe except for National which is facing the Kremlin and the Red Square, but it also costs much more. The beds are OK, the bathrooms are clean and OK, the staff... more

I recently stayed at your hotel for over one week. I spent a lot of money. I provided my passport when I checked-in so it could be registered. I returned one hour later to collect my passport and the staff informed me it was registered. I was stopped by Russian police the next day and didn't have the registration papers.... more

I was in Moscow for a business trip and chose this place mostly for the location. It was a good experience. I agree with most reviews that I have read recently, but I'll just add a few words. The building is a real soviet building, I doubt the newly rebuilt ones can have the same feeling : the very high... more

I stayed only one night, as it was my last night spurge, and I was arriving early in the morning by train from Kyiv. 1. The location was very very good. I could walk to all of the main sights. 2. Although expensive (over $200, plus 18% tax), it was worth it. I arrived around 7am, yet they allowed me... more

We have nothing but positive things to say about the Budapest Hotel. We arrived late-ish on New Year's Eve to be told that due to a "technical error" we would be upgraded to the luxury suite. The luxury suite was fab (I even felt a little bit like Pretty Woman)! The next day we braced ourselves for the standard room... more

I booked the Budapest because, from the reviews here it seemed to provide a good balance between price and satisfaction. The hotel is on a side street off the main Petrovka which is basically a 10 minute walk down to Red Square, passing the Bolshoi theatre. It didn't seem to be particularly well known by taxi drivers, which could cause... more
