The rooms at this hotel are very basic, and there are some inconveniences such as no internet access in the rooms and no electrical outlets in the bathrooms. The exorbitant rates had led me to expect something a bit more posh. On the other hand, the location couldn't be better, and the hotel staff was extremely helpful. The room satisfied... more

We stayed at the Petro Palace for two nights in the middle of July. We booked the room because it was ranked #4 on Trip Advisor and the location was good. The experience was highly disappointing in several ways. First, there was nothing four stars about this hotel. The rooms were fine but very basic and unimpressive. We stayed in... more

Don't get me wrong: Petro Palace is a nice place in a very good location. Ofcourse the design of the building is very old (I suppose) so you must walk a round trip to get to your room. Half of the rooms are looking to the atrium, but that's not bad. The bad thing about this hotel is that you... more

We decided to visit St Petersburg during the period of the white nights ,the most beautiful for this city. We choose the hotel considering the fact that it has 4 stars ,so we thought it can't be that bad. We paid 447 Euro/night for room only ,that means a lot ,we took the "deluxe" room because we wanted to be... more

I recently stayed at the Petro Palace (4 nights) and had a very positive experience. My room was on the 7th floor with an awesome view and great, huge windows with room-darkening shades (a must during summer!). The room was spacious and the furnishings quite nice, bed/bedding - both perfect, clean and comfy. The room was spotlessly clean and the... more

This hotel is located just a few blocks from the Hermitage museum, in the heart of historic St Petersburgh. The rooms were spacious by Russian standards and the bathrooms are clean and functional. The staff speaks English and is generally helpful. The bathroom floor is heated 24/7, which is probably a treat in the winter. In the summer, it made... more

I recently stayed there with my girlfriend for 2 nights. We chose it based on some rather positive Tripadvisor comments but were sorely disappointed. We were put up in the smallest room I have ever seen (not even enough space to open 2 suitcases at once !) The bathroom was old and smelled terrible, and the furniture was a notch... more

We stayed at the Petro Place for 4 nights May 22 - May 25 2008. The room was very large and comfortable with alpine style bedding. The bathroom was also large with plenty of room for toiletries and getting ready in the morning. We enjoyed the walk- in shower and heated floors. The room was bright (too bright during the... more

We stayed for 5 nights over the Victory Day weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The location is wonderful and it was a quick walk to all the sights and other islands. As advertised, the hotel is modern, the facade is old. Our room was on the 2nd floor with a window on the courtyard, and a walk-in shower. The... more

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel -- it was no frills, but very cosy and clean. The staff were quite nice, and the location cannot be beat. We noted we were on honeymoon, and were given a nicely served champagne and fruit when we arrived. Our room (506) had a lovely balcony that looked out on St Isaac's... more
