1.The location was fair. It was near St. Isaac’s Cathedral. On the quiet side. About a 10-minute walk to Nevsky, so a bit away from the main action, but still close enough. 2. Took the family (teenage boys) to St Petersburg by train from Helsinki and stayed at the Northern Lights Hotel for 4 nights, which we booked through Hostels.com via the Ryanair website. I thought it was really good value for a city centre hotel in the "Venice of the North" at 35 Euros pppn. There are only a dozen or so... more

We stayed at Northern Lighs Hotel last October and it was a nice surprise. Hotel is very clean and staff is really nice and helpful. I recommend you to book the transfer from the airport to the hotel directly with them, it's not expensive (40 euros a van for 4 people, I suppose a smaller car will be cheaper) and... more
