We stayed at the Ambassador during the Insight Tours "Easy Pace Russia" package. The hotels in Russia collect your passport upon arrival. We were both surprised and pleased that the Hotel Ambassador noticed that my wife's birthday fell during our stay. Like the others writing here, I have to give this Above Average ratings. It missed getting anything better because the AC worked poorly. Like elsewhere in Russia, the AC units are not adequate for the rooms, or the hotels shut the AC power down at night, or maintenance is poor. It was hot at night. This a an elegant and well maintained hotel. The rooms are large and the amenities are modern. We had a standard and suite. The suite had wireless internet but not the standard room....go figure.
