My wife had a few bad scrapes from a bicycle accident and after receiving some band-aids and ice from a nearby restaurant on the lake, we went back to the Hyatt, where we expected to be referred to the hotel's nurse or at least to find some antibiotic ointment from the Concierge's first aid kit. As it turns out, the... more

Regular visitor to hotel for business. Comfortable rooms, adore the bathroom, great location, excellent buffet. However, does seem to getting very popular, prices creeping up, extremely busy. We choose to stay there rather than Shanghai hotels. Check in always the most arduous experience, otherwise great. more

This is probably one of the prettiest hotels i've been to, personally. Very pricy, especially by Chinese hotel standards, but well worth the price. The setting is second to none, right next to the West Lake, the lobby is absolutely fantastic, and service also really good, and the pool spectacularly pretty. There is also a sauna along with public baths... more

This is a high-priced hotel for China. Even bottled water is 25 yuan a bottle (and 2 around the corner outside). The diningroom -- albeit good -- is pretty expensive: breakfast is, of course, extra. Yet the breakfast is excellent!. The business centre staff could not have been more helpful. So I guess that you get what you pay for!... more

Outstanding location, incredibly helpful and friendly staff, INCREDIBLE breakfast (inc. ESPRESSO coffee, freshly squeezed juices, and a western/asian array of extremely high quality foods). Opt for a lakeview room- so worth it! This is BY FAR the best, slickest, most immaculate hotel in town. If you are deciding between this hotel and The Sofitel (I, too, was perplexed!), trust me... more

I selected this hotel based on its reviews. The food, service, rooms and facilities are excellent. Although we loved being in China it was great to come back to the hotel and just enjoy the luxury. This hotel along with the Peninsula in Beijing and Le Meridian in Shanghai are all highly recommended more

This was my first stop on my China trip and I was very impressed. The hotel is relatively new and quite modern. Service was impeccable. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the place was swarming with wait staff who were almost too eager to please. The hotel is located right on West Lake, and the view of the lake from... more

this was a nice place, but i can't understand the amazing review. we had a lake view room, in the center of the arc-shaped hotel, on the top floor, other than a suite, i can't imagine a better roomin the hotel. The room was small, and the amenities only ok. the service was ok too. Compared to the peninsul in... more

We had bid on and won three free nights at this hotel as part of a charity auction, therefore we did not know what the 'rack rates' were for this hotel. The check-in staff was friendly with a good command of English. They upgraded us to a Lake-View room which was lovely. Had our room not had a view over... more
