With 2 students in college in Abilene, we need a place for overnights while visiting and Whitten appears to be our choice. There are other chain hotels but the rate for what you get is pretty steep - well over $100.00 per night. Whittens rate was much better (they have rates for "college" visits) and we were pleased with the... more

We had been on a week long vacation throughout the SWest and had been staying in "chain" motels. When we got to Abilene we saw the Whitten Inn and was immediately impressed with the driveup appeal. It was super clean, bright, and inviting. The room was exceptional with clean linens, bright lights, comfortable beds. The early morning breakfast had a... more

I used a coupon from a travel magazine for a discount. The room was clean and spacious. The pool was likewise with pool towels available. Breakfast was varied with cereals, fresh fruits, biscuits and gravy, waffles, pancakes; much more than I expected. Every stay I have had at a Whitten Inn has been terrific. more

The continental breakfast here is greatly improved and the service is quite good in all respects. What disappointed me and caused me to check out a day earlier than planned were the other guests in the place. THere were a few youth groups staying at Whitten Inn to participate in a variety of local sporting events. They were noisy and... more

I think this is the best hotel stay I ever had. The front desk was most helpful and friendly. Candice Parks and David explained everything, always had a great smile on their face and were just wonderful. After driving 7 hours on the road, it was great to get a BIG SMILE upon entering the hotel. I will be back...... more

Saw the billboard that said High Speed Internet Acess. When we checked in we were told that all I had to do was plug in my eithernet cable to get high speed access. When we tried to find data jack the office explained that I would have to have one of their wireless modems. Then it was told to us... more

I stayed at the Whitten Inn during the Christmas holidays and it could not of been better! the service was excellent! The breakfast was the largest continental breakfast I have ever seen. The room was very clean every day we stayed. The owners are Americans and that makes a Big difference in service and you can tell! I won't stay... more

I had been a frequent customer of the Whitten Inn Univ. in Abilene. I am BLACK. Me and my brother in law entered the lobby and was rudely asked if we had a reservation. We said no and the clerk rudely says "We have no rooms available." So me and my brother in law called my sister in law who... more
