We stayed one night here, because at the time of booking the almost-next-door first-rate Pousado do Boqueirao where we had recently stayed did not have room. 5 friends and I stayed at Pousada do Pilar for 7 days during Carnaval. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this bed & breakfast. The owners and staff are top notch. The service excellent. One of the nicest parts of Salvador is the quaint little posadas hidden amongst the colourful colonial buildings. The staff here was very friendly and we were so happy to find modern air conditioners for those hot Brazilian nights! Beautiful old house, intelligently modernized. We stayed three nights in a spacious, airy room facing the quiet street @ US$95 per night B & B.
