Online, this hotel is listed as a 4 and sometimes a 5 star hotel. By American standards, it's not as good as a Sheraton, Marriot, or Hilton, which are 4 star hotels here. The rooms are a good size, but the lighting is dim, there are no washcloths or rags available, so you will need to bring your own washcloth,... more

I stayed here recently with my 10 year old son and my 25 year old cousin. We booked this hotel mainly because of the nice pool, although my son only used it once, since it wasn't heated. I found it to be very nice. Maybe not the luxury that I would expect with a five star hotel, but it was... more

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was really nice; it had good sized rooms, nice pool area, choice of eating areas & room service (which we used on our first night). The location of this hotel is good as well, although it’s about 30 minutes away from the falls there is plenty of shopping, nice walks to take... more

Not sure what is soooo bad about this hotel as some critisize it. The rooms were ok, nothing to write home about but not that bad as some like to describe it, the breakfast was really good with a good variety and the pool was great. The only thing that bugged me a bit is that they advertize this as... more

If you like hotels stuck in a 70's timewarp then you will love this hotel. Personally I can't see how it is rated as high as it is or how people rave about it. I was very dissapointed. The decor is very brown and looks like it has not been decorated for years. The bed was comfortable and everything worked... more

I´m not sure if the previous two reviewers stayed in the same hotel as we did. Either way, we had booked the hotel a long way back and read their reviews a couple of days before we were due to get there. We checked in with a great deal of apprehension and...couldn´t really find anything particularly wrong with it. The... more

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the beginning of January 08 which was 3 nights too many. I cannot see how this could be a 5 star hotel. The rooms are dark with old furniture that looks like they're from the 70s, the corridors are dark and smell of cat piss. The town is horrible and there's nothing... more

This was similar to a motel 6 in america. It was so terrible that i could not wait until i left. Postive things about the hotel 1-The room is huge, with a little table in it as well. 2-The tv had some america movies on at night 3-It is 120 dollars a night 4-I checked out at 2 even though... more

We stayed at the Mercure for three nights while we visited the falls around Christmas, and had a nice stay. The hotel is clean with nice furnishings for South America, and the lobby and restaurants are very nice as are the pool. The location is downtown but only close to a couple of restaurants including a churrascaria that is recommended.... more

We started our stay in Brazil at Mercure, and the bar was raised so much that we were left disappointed with other hotels where we paid so much more! The hotel is conveniently located in the city center. We paid around 100 USD per night and had a good room with a pretty good bathroom. The cost of taxi to... more
