We arrived early morning (7.30am) in Rio and had arranged a taxi transfer from the airport via UK based company - as virgins to Rio we had read so much about BAD Rio. we stayed at the pestana for 6nights...our first time to brasil. we arrived late afternoon and the hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. we had a great guide and he had filled us in on the do's and dont's. we went out for dinner close to the hotel (after over 16hours travelling) and it was nice, local cafe type feel.... more

The Pestana is situated in a great location but really any hotel right on Cococabanna you can´t really go wrong. My first impressions were excellent apon arriving but as soon as we begin to check in reality in the Pestana hit. The staff were slow, uninterested and unfriendly. The icing on the cake came when we arrived in our room.... more

It was right on the Copacabana Beach. The staff was great and the breakfast buffet was just lovely!!! I loved the rooftop pool and we had an amazing view of the city. The room was small and not the best. It could use an update. Overall, a very positive experience! more

I have just stayed in Pestana for a week and I must say that everything is great about this hotel: service, lobby, breakfast, views from the pool, restaurant and of course location - but not the rooms. Stayed for a week. Room was spacious and in good condition. Large, clean bathroom. I had a balcony room facing the ocean and the view was spectacular. Hotel staff polite and courteous. Good breakfast. Would repeat. Have also stayed a week at the Marriot down the street. Prefer the Pestana. more
