Everyone has to understand there are different standards for accommodations in Brazil. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times while visiting Rio. The hotel services are very nice, the rooms are average. The hotel will be undergoing renovation starting in 2009. It is a great location just across the street from the beach and "flea market." The hotel breakfast... more

(+) The location of the hotel is great as just in front of the sea and in Copacabana. I paid for a room in with view on the ocean and nothing to say, it was amazing, especially for sunset and sunrise. (-) Though I had booked a suite, they gave me a standard intentionally. I had to go back to... more

I stayed at the Windsor Miramar Palace Hotel for the weekend of the 18th April 2008. Checked into the hotel and was given the "regular" room number 1301. SHOCKER! It was an ocean view room! Yes! Fantastic! The view was indeed incredible, the room however wasn't so much of a four star as they advertised. Wooden floors, comfortable bed, relatively... more

The Miramar Palace is a great place to stay in this beautiful but contrasting city. The location was ideal for my requirements the main entrance is on a small quiet street just off the beach front. The world famous Copacabana is just a few minutes away from the hotel once you cross over the busy road. Ipanema with its equally... more

We were told this hotel was a 4 star via our travel agent. It is only a standard hotel, 3 stars really. Stayed at the Miramar with a group of friends to bring in the new year '08. We had 3 superior rooms and they were just ok. I don't know what a standard room would look like, but the... more

I have visited Rio de Janeiro many times. This was, by far, the worse "three-star" hotel in which I have stayed. In my opinion, it deserves (at most) only one star. The hotel looks OK from the outside and is well-located, but its hallways and rooms do not look like they have been renovated in decades. The hallway on the... more

This was a very good hotel and I would recommend it to others. Probably the best part was the location as it is right on the beach and in close proximity to a variety of shops and grocery stores. The hotel is also in very close proximity to Ipanema if you choose to try that beach during your stay. The... more

My first visit to Rio de Janeiro, and I stayed at this hotel. It has fantastic views, the bar and restaurant are excellent. It's right on the Copa Cabanna, and the beach. Except for the frontdesk, everyone who I spoke to at the hotel, was friendly and very helpfull. I had a sideroom, with it's own little balcony, so I... more

My friends and I had never been to Rio before and we desperately wanted to go for Carnaval. Not knowing where to stay was difficult and we trusted in expedia and traveler reviews. The Miramar Palace Hotel was nice and very clean. The people who worked there were quite friendly and extremely helpful. The location was great, then again, we... more

Stayed here in November 2006. We were told that we had been upgraded and were given a room on floor 15. This was a corner room with a balcony overlooking the beach . Compared with the hotel photos this room was very small with just enough space for a double bed and minimal furniture, but adequate for our needs. It... more
