I was lucky to have a room on the third floor over-looking the valley and old fortress. There is a Main Road Bridge and Railway Bridge under the back of the hotel where my room was and although there were Double Glazed windows and thick curtains, it could be noisy. The whole place was clean and nicely decorated for Christmas.... more

The bedrooms leave a lot to be desired.If you are a fan of the 60,s -go here .Time has stood still and the standard of rooms as well.The food in the restaurant was good ,being that we were the only ones eating.It was like a scene from the Shining when you went to the toilet.You were expecting "Here,s Johnnie".But we... more

We just returned from 3 weeks in Bulgaria. The people everywhere EXCEPT at this hotel were warm, kind & friendly. This hotel was AWFUL. We just returned from a trip to Bulgaria. We spent several days in Plovdiv and then went to Velinko Turnovo. We booked the Grand Hotel prior to leaving the USA.
