We had a simply wonderful holiday to Sri Lanka booked through http://www.fleewinter.co.uk/ but The Ceylon Tea Trails were without doubt the highlight. Breathtaking setting, beautiful accommodation, excellent food and lovely staff. We are definitely going to go back. Damien was especially great. more

We loved our threenights at the Tientsin bungalow at Ceylon Tea Trails. Tientsin (the former spelling for the Chinese city of Tianjin, which was a nice coincidence as we're expats living in China). Damien, the head butler, and his staff provided a fantastic experience. Tientsin has six rooms total -- we stayed in the Meares luxury room (warning: keep your... more

We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in the Castlereigh bungalow of Tea Trails during May 2008. As with the rest of the reviews here, the exceptional service, the gourmet cuisine and the unique location of the property won our hearts. We were particularly impressed with the all inclusive package of Tea Trails. Though initially, we had thought it a... more

Highlight of a recent week's trip to Sri Lanka staying 2 nights here. As good as anything we have ever expereinced - or hope to. The best service we have ever had - beautifully understated. Great gardens and pool. We stayed at Norwood bungalow which was recommended to us. Make sure you do the long walk - you don't need... more

We stayed at the Norwood Bungalow for two nights as part of a 10 night tour. This was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The rooms were great, and the overall service was exemplary - especially Mahesh. Visitors will enjoy the "all inclusive" nature of the stay, which isn't the case at a lot of other boutique properties... more

We stayed at Castlereagh for two nights in March and it was the most magical experience of our honeymoon. The service was fantastic, the food delicious and the gardens beautiful. It really was like stepping back in time: high tea on the verrandah, pre-dinner drinks in one of the two sitting rooms, four course meals with excellent argentinian wine and... more

This is how small hotels should be; immaculate service, wonderful position, very good food, lovely rooms, well fitted, really good linen, vg pillows (always a good sign). Guests are treated as though they own the place and you quickly slip into the role of the colonial tea planters guests; the staff are always available, always helpful, always happy and there... more

We stayed 2 nights at Norwood (one of 4 houses operated by Tea Trails). Absolute luxury, great food, wonderful (discrete) service, nothing ever a problem. Sitting on the terrace overlooking tea terraces - just magic. Given the altitude you beat the heat and humidity of the coast. The staff were very helpful in giving advice about walks and organising a... more

We were lucky enough to spend 2 nights in a garden suite at Norwood bungalow. We only wish we could have spent more time there. Tea trails is a unique experience giving a taste of what life was like for plantation owners in colonial days. We arrived in time for high tea which was excellent and the chef visited us... more

We stayed at Norwood for two nights in Jan 08 and absolutely loved it! it was the high light of our trip and even though expensive, well worth every penny! Our friends got married at Castlereagh so we had a lovely day down by the lake, but for us Norwood was definitely more special. the view, the pool, the food,... more
