After an exhausting tour in the foothills of the Himalayas it was wonderful to rest here for 3 nights. What a delightful place - we had their best room overlooking the courtyard entrance - it was of a very high standard of decor plus a bath with a view!! - felt really special. The main pool is now out of... more

I stayed for one night at the Samode Palace with my boyfriend in late-November 2007 at the end of a week long “Golden Triangle” tour of India. In terms of character and charm it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and I have been travelling for over 20 years so I’ve stayed in quite a few hotels.... more

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel during our recent holiday to India and it was our base when we toured Jaipur. I hadn't realised when booking, that this hotel was not in Jaipur, so when our driver informed us as we were driving through Jaipur that it was still a further hour away, I was a little surprised... more

Samode is a village often used as a film set in India - this doesn't mean it is pristine! But interestin to walk round, as was the fort on the hill. The Palace is up behind the village at the head of the valley and is a wonderful location. Our suite was spacious with a great bathroom with an old-style... more

What a place! The palace, as we see and experience it today dates back to the first half of the 19th century. It is built right into the mountains, overlooked by the old Samode Fort. My wife and I stayed at Samode Palace for one night as part of the Samode Historical Package with two more nights in the Samode... more

Very well maintained old fort with beautiful roof terrace. Food is very good and restaurant is lovely at night with outside tables, candelight and small fires to keep you warm. Our first room was slightly depressing with a window looking into the interior courtyard so the curtains could never be opened. We ended up in room 211 which was much... more

We stayed one night at the Samode Palace, part of a large party, towards the end of a 5 day tour of India. Stunningly beautiful hotel, with rooms that appear at first sight to be really luxurious. Friendly, polite and helpful staff. But overall the hotel was disappointing. Service at lunchtime was excruciatingly slow - 45 minutes to produce a... more

Fabulous Heritage palace hotel. The original palace rooms remain stunning to visit, a tour was freely offered. The decorations (gold/mirrors/colours) were the best we had seen in the Golden Triangle. Really jaw-dropping. The staff clearly enjoy working there and serve you well. It is beautifully maintained. Food is perfectly good with plenty of choice. Our suite was very good, large... more

As we arrived at Samode Palace we were happy to be getting away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi a small village gives way to a large and beautiful set in the mountains. At check in we were informed that both swimming pools were out of service. Given that we were about 60km from Jaipur this was not welcome... more

Stayed here 2 days after the Samode Haveli, and our expectation were at the maximum level as we had such a great experience at the Haveli that we were afraid of being disappointed... no need to worry, this property is astonishing! We have been going from surprise to surprise during the 2 days, our room -deluxe suite- was huge and... more
