I am just wrapping up a week long trip to Witch's Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I am an adult female traveling with my father. We take a surf trip annually, and we found Witch's Rock on the internet. We thought this would be a good way to see a little of what surfing Costa Rica is like.... more

WOW WHAT A PLACE!!!! Tamarindo by itself is a great place to visit. This was my 2nd time to Tamarindo, 5th time in Costa Rica, and FIRST time to Witches Rock. This place is amazing. The service is first-rate and the staff is second to none. As a new surfer, the staff is excellent from getting you to get used... more

I am really surprised by some of the poor reviews. This was honestly one of the best vacations I have ever been on. It exceeded my expectations. The only reason I am not giving it five stars is it is not a luxury resort, although I knew this going in to it. Price: very reasonable for what it includes--room, lessons,... more

We did not have the best weather (it was really raining first 2 days and no surf) or good waves (it was really choppy, hard for beginners) but we did manage to have fun. Overall though I think the place it is overpriced. The rooms are pretty basic. Ours wasn't as bad as the prior reviewer. We had room 7... more

My wife and I booked 18 days here and were absolutely thrilled to go surf, fish....... I'll keep it short and sweet: The rooms and beds smell like urine and when it rains it just stinks of sewage. We were still excited so we said the hell with it let's go surf. The break in front of the "hotel" is... more

Just returned from a surf trip to Witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. I went with 2 other guys, it was our first surf trip and we lined up lessons. Was rather dissipointed with the quality of the lessons. On our first day, Carlos gave us about 10 minutes of beach instruction, then went out in the water... more

The best thing about WRSC is the people. The staff is outstanding. From the people at the desk to the housekeepers to the kitchen to the owner Joe, they are all wonderful hosts. If you expect 5 star accomodations and Zagat accolades, this ain't for you. But if you surf, or want to learn, and want great people taking care... more
