I currently live in Panama and travel through out Central America often. I luckily stumbled across Casa 69 on the internet, made my reservation and was set. I couldn't have been happier with the place. Kurt (the owner) was amazing as well as his staff. There seems to be a rotating staff of about 5 people plus Kurt. One woman... more

My partner and I stayed at Casa 69 for a few nights in July 08. We could not fault the place. Kurt and his team are extremely welcoming and attentive. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and well equipped with cable tv, fridge and safe. Breakfast was also very good. Kurt is a superb host and recommended some excellent places... more

The highly positive reviews of the hotel's owner Kurt are all true -- he is charming, most helpful, and he runs a modern, efficient B&B style hotel where the rooms and common areas are kept very clean. The location is just enough out of the center without being too far to walk, and I felt absolutely safe and secure. What... more

Our ultimate destination was Mal Pais, but since we couldn't get a local flight that worked with our flight into San Jose, we decided to stay overnight at Casa 69. What a fabulous place. We got in late and Kurt was gracious, even at that hour. Our room was in the other house across the street and was very comfortable,... more

We spent the first 2 nights and the last night of our honeymoon here and felt it was one of the best places we stayed in our whole trip across Costa Rica. Kurt and his staff made us feel very welcome and were gracious and courteous. You should definitely listen to Kurt's suggestions of where to eat around the B&B,... more

Casa 69 was my first and last stop in Costa Rica. It was my base in San Jose and it was an excellent choice. It's a great value for your money and the staff is amazing, especially Kurt. He was so friendly and attentive, and his recommendations for things to do and places to eat were wonderful. Everyone there is... more

I was a little hesitant choosing a place a bit off the beaten path, but went ahead on the strength of the reviews here. We planned to use Casa 69 for one day on each end of our trip to Osa. Definitely take the directions Kurt sends you for your taxi driver - it's not well-known but our driver found... more

Casa 69 is a charming bed and breakfast owned by a friendly German, Kurt. The other staff we met were Carlos and Ricardo, both friendly and helpful. Carlos gave us excellent recommendations on where to eat (Cafe Mundo) and on local sites. The place is gay friendly which was important for us, although its name has nothing to do with... more

We stayed one night at the end of our trip and was very happy with our choice. This place is very comfortable and the decor is very eye-catching. The area is actually very convenient to different places to eat that you can walk to. The staff very friendly and the minibar was very reasonable. The reasons why I gave it... more

My wife and I recently spent 2 months in Costa Rica. We had reserved a condo in Jaco for the first of March 2008 and decided to arrive a few days earlier to visit the San Jose area. We found Casa 69 on tripadvisor.com and read pretty much all of its reviews. Like many, we were a bit skeptical with... more
