My boyfriend and I stayed in the Palms Wilderness for two nights, two weeks ago and I would highly recommend this place to anyone going to South Africa. It exceeded my expectations. We arrived at the Palms and was shown around by the host Vicky. I was amazed to see that my electric blanket was turned on for me! Rooms... more

I would highly recommend the Palms Wilderness Guest House to anyone doing the Garden Route. We had a fantastic night there and only wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms are lovely and spacious - perfect for relaxing in. My dad's room had a lovely mezzanine level to sit and relax in with a book - the perfect finishing... more

This is a lovely property with very hospitable management. The location is good, handy for beach and the rest of Wilderness. I only wish the weather had been good so we could have appreciated everything more. Despite the weather we really enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and the meal was atmospheric, being conducted by oil lamps due to... more

We arrived with high expectations after some luxury stays in Mauritius, Shamwari and Zambia - Wayne and Vicky did not disappoint ! We arrived muddy and dishevelled after quad biking -and were met by Vicky - incredibly chilled and hospitable, after checking us in (very informally !) she immediately produced a wonderful chilled bottle of wine. After a great start,... more

The hotel is easy to find and is in a good spot for the beach and local bars. Our room was tastefully furnished and the conical shaped thatched roof gave it lots of character. The pool is small with a few sun loungers round it and the hotel is surrounded by cottage gardens and water features. However you don't need a pool... more

My husband and I spent two nights in The Palms in Wilderness in February and we can say without hesitation that this truly is a gem in the Garden Route. Where Wilderness itself is a little unspectacular (An opinion which is possibly tainted somewhat by the grey and rainy weather) – It does sit in a perfect position to take... more

Great location and owners Wayne and Vicki are friendly and helpful. Wayne has a wonderful dry sense of humour:-) Dinner at the Palms is excellent and don't even bother to try eating anywhere else in Wilderness as you will only be disappointed once you have dined at the Palms. Rooms are large and comfortable and this is a relaxing place... more

We had the usual 2 night stay, while travelling around the Western Cape. The Palms is very easy to find just off the N2 and a very short walk to the lovely big beach. The hosts, i agree, are really great, hands on, and never seem to tire of entertaining their guests. They made our daughter feel very welcome, letting... more

Can't fault the Palms! We were made to feel at home by excellent hosts - Wayne, Vicky and Candace. Beautiful room and fabulous food - not to be missed, definitely stay for dinner. Only a short walk to amazing beaches. Our only regret is that we only stayed 1 night - definitely stay longer next time! more

Agree with all the earlier reviews, lovely, lovely place, extremely friendly and welcoming. Beautiful setting near the beach, lovely gardens with birds, great rooms (ours had the most enormous bath), enjoyed a drink in the lounge (honesty bar) before dinner. Great food, would definately recommend to anyone, best stop off on the garden route drive. more
