Recently refurbed nicely but it is an old building so some dodgy remnants exist....window frames/ depressing hallways & why didn't they change the cupboards in the rooms rather than try to fit them in to a totally different looking room? I have stayed at the Ambassador five times in the last two years. I would recommend staying in the Suites which are based just across the road from the main hotel. We stayed here for one night on our way back after a week in Hermanus, on reflection we would have been better to stay in Hermanus, which i thought was great.
