We had a perfectly good stay at the St Georges Hotel in July. The location was excellent for discovering the city centre and doing all that shopping and musum visiting. Taxis are abundant and we always felt safe. The hotel is clean and the service good. Sure it is a little old (certainly not 4 star) and the bathrooms do... more

We stayed the first week in June and had a good sized room with great views of table mountain. The staff were very friendly compared with a lot of other hotels. The restaraunt is nice and not expensive and breakfast is varied and good value. It is centally located to see the museums etc and about fifteen minutes walk to... more

They had taken our booking but were overbooked so had no room for our first night. Had to ship us out to sister hotel outside the city! Returned to St George for 2 and 3 night but Shower did not work properly, no plug for sink. T.V. remote did not work. On last day woken at 7.15 to ask what... more

Me and my partner stayed here in Nov 2006 on our first trip to South Africa. We arrived very early (about 8am) at the hotel but they still let us check in at that time. The room was spacious and had a lovely view of Table Mountain. Breakfast was a huge buffet and was served by a very friendly waiter... more

This is an old, tired hotel, quite stuffy, and in need of a re-furbishment. It's definately not a 4-star hotel, however our room did have a great view of Table Mountain. Next time I would pay a bit more to stay at the V&A Waterfront. It is not safe to leave this hotel after dark, as is the same with... more

Incredible value. The hotel is central. This means you take care after dark and when quiet such as on Sundays. Taxis recommended for the Waterfront at night. They offer modest priced evening meals and the breakfasts are generous. They do not cook bacon crispy but the rest of the wide variation of food is fine. The restaurant is in the... more

I stayed here for 9 nights in March and had a wonderful stay. The room was modern and well equipped. The breakfast, which was included in the price, was fantastic. The staff were very efficient and helpful. The hotels location is only a short cab ride from the V&A waterfront which was OK by me as it was so prentious... more

Booked blind by Travel Agent. Good clean four star city centre hotel. Good friendly staff. In daylight easy walk to V & A Waterfront, but taxis cheap and always available. Large shopping centre/mall over road. more

My Brother and I stayed at the St. George in Early November this year. My brother is very ill and we wanted to have a fantastic holiday together and our stay at the St. George Hotel was fantastic. The staff were great, could not be more helpful. The rooms were excellent all in all I cannot find one negative thing... more

My husband and I stayed at the St Georges Hotel about 3 years ago when attending a conference. We found the hotel to be very good value for money and well located, being within walking distance to so many of the cities' best attractions. The hotel staff were really pleasant and very friendly, so it was our logical choice for... more
