A lovely hotel. Very cosy and friendly. All the staff were great especially Danny at the bar (get him to make you a township toiletcocktail). I did get stabbed with a pen when out and about and refused to hand over money to a schoolboy supposedly trying to get money for a school trip. But we were happy with the food,... more

About 10 mins from the Quays and the Town in general. Nice steady Hotel (says its 4 stars but really 3stars) that is a good base to explore the area. Rooms OK but air con very noisy. Breakfast just about ok but basic Pool area small but ok so as you can see Hotel ok for somewhere to sleep more

We loved this hotel. We found it warm, friendly and inviting. we were made most welcome by everyone. It is almost all made of a golden coloured wood that I think they call butterwood. Rooms-clean spacious and comfortable. The road upon which it stands goes down to the waterfront. There are plenty of places to eat (turn right as you... more

I have to agree with other reviews about this hotel While there is nothing blatantly wrong with it, it is not a four star hotel. We found it after driving past it three times as it was quite difficult to see the sign. It was on quite a derelict and dangerouos looking street and we were quite imtimidated. Check in... more

While the Log Inn does have it's positives (mainly that it is close to the waterfront), I think most people staying the Knysna area can do much better for accomodations. The hotel claims to be a four-star luxury hotel, but it's really a lot closer to a Super 8 than a Hilton. The entire hotel has a cramped, musty feel.... more

We really enjoyed Knysna. We spent 3 nights here and this was a perfect hotel (and one of the best on our stay in SA). Its a quaint wooden style hotel but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the facilities (pool, jacuzzi, sauna) were all clean and of a reasonable size. This hotel is... more

We stayed at the Knysna Log Inn for 4 nights in late March 2007. We had travelled from Cape Town (long drive of 6 hours) and weren't sure what to expect. It's actually quite a sizeable place with a very convenient location - 100 yards to the main street in town and about 200 yards down to the waterfront where... more

We stayed here 14/15 November 2006. No problems checking in or with the room. However, we did eventually, have three different telephones, before they provided one that worked! The building is an odd yellow wooden construction and the corridors were very strange. The room was a standard style of hotel room with a small balcony that had a very high,... more

I was recommended this hotel by a South African friend who was living in Knysna until recently. On my arrival, I wasn't sure what to think. It's quite a large hotel and is bang in the centre of town. The building is a very large yellow-coloured wood log cabin which is somewhat odd (some people love it) but impressive nonetheless,... more
