We stayed at Las Hayas for one night prior to boarding the Mare Australis in Ushuaia. We arrived about an hour late, and our hotel transfer wasn't there. Taxis were readily available at the terminal, however, and we had no problem getting to the hotel. It's about a 10 to 15 minute ride from the airport. Upon arrival, we were... more

Pluses: Great view Nice dining room with good food Very capable staff and very helpful Our room was the suite above the main entrance on the 3rd floor. Two rooms plus a separate bath. It was very spacious. Negatives: Expensive Finish work inside the hotel is very poor, (moulding, lighting, etc). This may be more a reflection on the quality... more

This hotel is a one of the biggest rip offs I've stayed in. There is nothing luxurious save for the prices. The beds are soft and lumpy. The towels smell of tobacco. The wireless didn't work and when I complained, they said it doesn't work with dell computers! (which mine was) The furniture is bargain basement oak and the decorating... more

It's the rate that kills me for the hotel it is--USD $275 a night. Beds need replacing and the wallpaper in the good-sized rooms is a bit disorienting. To add insult to injury, you pay USD $1 for each little bottle of water you consume in your room. Staff tries hard but they're on par with the Red Roof Inn.... more

Stayed a few nights in this hotel while on a tour with a group in Argentina. Good location on a hillside overlooking Ushuaia. Walking to downtown 15 minutes. Very nice rooms and nice hotel overall, but depending on which room, weekends can be troublesome because of a disco or night club in the neighbourhood. Noisy. Nice breakfast buffet and attentive... more

I totally agree with the last review - this is definitely NOT a 5-star hotel, and maybe there are better alternatives in Ushuaia. The carpeting is old, decoration is completely old fashioned (think plexiglass and brass put together); there is no minibar in the room - a tray holding 2 sodas and 2 bottles of water accounts for it. If... more

This is definitely not a 5-star hotel. Staff is very friendly, the view is very nice but.... * do two cans of coke without a fridge on the room * really old fashioned design of the rooms * really nothing special in the rest of the service add up to this price?! Hotels like this can only survive with a... more

The Las Hayas (The Beeches) hotel is situated high on a hill just outside of town with a stunning view of the harbor and mountains. It is easily the finest hotel in Ushuaia and the manager is both affable and helpful. the rooms are clean if somewhat staid as is the rest of the hotel The included buffet breakfast is... more

The hotel is located high on a hillside, overlooking the little town of Ushuaia. The view was nice, however, the hotel itself seemed a bit overpriced and run down. The staff was very nice in checking us in, calling for taxis and making suggestions for activities. The room, however, was a disaster (see photo). The floor-to-ceiling pink roses were atrocious,... more

We have been to Ushuaia and it is great for skiing. An average meal for 1 with local regular wine will cost approximately U$ 15 to 25. more
